GPS Fundamentals is for everyone

April 7-8, 2010, Miles City, MT


GPS Fundamentals will focus on the use of a GPS receiver to colect GIS data, to navigate to and from a waypoint, create routes, use trackback features, download and upload data into the GPS receiver, understand different coordinate systems, determine coordinates from a topographic map using map tools, use tracks and waypoints to produce outdoor activity maps, complete a geocaching activity, and print out generated maps. Participants will display their GPS data with Google Earth, ArcGIS Explorer, topographic maps, Montana colored images, country road data, landownership and other free data. 

All software used in the training may be taken home and installed on a home computer.  Garmin GPS 76 receivers and computers will be furnished.

Payment should accompany application.  Check, or credit card.  Credit cards will not be charged until sufficient enrollment is achieved.  The credit card charge will show READI Workforce.  Once the class has sufficient enrollment, you will be notified of the class.  No refunds will be given after that notification.
